busy day
spent 2 hours at IKEA today. so easy to kill time there. as mentioned, in a few months i plan on moving into a new apartment. i’ve been working on a list of things that i’ll need that i don’t have, or that i have but can’t take b/c they are my moms or they belong in her condo. anyways…i’ve been working on making a list from IKEA. it started out at nearly $900. then i found out i could keep my mattress & box spring, which spared me about $300. keep in mind i only bought one thing today, the rest was just browsing to see if things were comfortable and to try them out. let me go through what i found….

^ KLIPPAN love seat, $299. the frame is $220 & the cover (there are color options) is $79. The pink one was on sale (perhaps being discontinued?) and priced at $34, so i got the pink cover and saved $45. so bottom line, this will cost me $254.

^ LINDVED side table, $19.99 (plan to use at night stand)

^ LACK coffee table, $19.99 (might get in different finish)

^ POANG arm chair, $69. i was going to get an arm chair that was $99, but this one turned out to be super comfy!

^ LERBERG shelf unit, $19.99 (i plan to get the larger one)

^ STIG bar stool, $16.99 (i plan to get 2)

^ PRUTA 17 piece storage containers, $3.99 (what a deal!)

^ FRAJEN wash clothes, hand towels, bath towels, $2.99 - $4.99

^ BOLMEN scale, $5.99 (this one actually weighed me accurately, i like it)

^ NACKTEN bathmat, $1.99 (cheapest bathmat i’ve ever seen)
There are a few other things on my list that i didn’t take pictures of, just some kitchen hand towels and a door mat. but my list that was almost $900 is down to about $450. Not too bad. This is the bulk of what i need to get. i need a couple small things and then i do have to get a microwave b/c the apartment doesn’t have one.
i’m probably not moving until may or june, but its important to budget what i’m getting so i know what i can spend.
so after searching IKEA, went to the store and got 2 newspapers. clipped lots of coupons in my attempt to start couponing. we’ll see how that goes. also did lots of cleaning and sorting. walked to & from the grocery store. and i’ve been working hard at this thing trying to figure out how much money to set aside for my apartment and it’s furnishings and all the little things - like sponges, cleaning supplies, etc. luckily i have ample supply of air fresheners and hand soap. but i need to be careful on what i spend money on b/c i also need to buy some new clothes before my vacation to las vegas. losing weight has put me in a position where many of my clothes are too big for me. i’m going to have to be picky where i shop for that stuff too as i don’t want to burn all my left over cash on that. i also assume i’ll have to pay deposits for power & cable. annnnddd, i’m going to watch my spending in las vegas. only few souvenirs and lots of pictures. no big shopping!
back to work in the morning…good night all….
